Over three decades ago, amidst a sea of healthy, young gay men whose consciousness and life-styles could be described as expansive, I celebrated a hard-earned freedom some people will never know. Then suddenly, many became very sick and started dying. I, too, became terminally ill. It wasn’t even called AIDS then, and HIV had yet to be discovered. This poignant history, and the unique perceptions I’ve drawn from it, are what taught me that disease can become a teacher of love and wholeness. I learned that through the opening to new perceptions of Source Energy that Disease Transformation is the naturopathic shifting of our perception and experience of a disease. It is cultivating a transcendent perspective about our ailments that is nonlinear and multidimensional, evoking an experience of peace and spaciousness. This will be a deeply experiential course.

Reinventing Ourselves Naturally Through Focalizing

Beginning March 26, Michael Picucci will lead and teach two Focalizing ten week circles, or groups, (eight participants), one from 11:00 to 1:00 and the other from 7:00 to 9:00 on Thursdays. This method is different from psychotherapy or self-help groups. Each gathering will be a stand-alone event (strung together in a series) that draws on our bodily sensations to inform and direct important life choices. The process will enable participants to dissolve the blind spots that prevent clarifying and realizing intentions. These pioneering groups are a cost-effective way of tuning-in for direction and learning from a future that wants to emerge through us.

It is suggested that participants read some of the material on the Focalizing web site and feel a sense of interest, synergy, and readiness for something new, gentle and pleasurable. One can also come to the earlier Open Center presentation (see lead newsletter article in our newsletter). The fee is $100. per two-hour session and partial scholarship may be available, based on need. To reserve space complete form and send with check for first session. Participants can only sign up for the full ten session series.

A New York City Focalizing Weekend with Dr. Michael Picucci & Colleagues

Building on Dr. Picucci’s latest research and fieldwork, together we will experientially explore how logical systems of thought limit fulfillment and texture in our lives. This process incorporates the energy psychology methods recognizing that the single intention that one brings to a focalizing weekend is the most important factor. Dr. Picucci, as focalizer, allows this intention to energetically guide a natural process leading to illumination and clarity.

Sex, Spirit & Intimacy: A Retreat

Held at Wisdom House in Litchfield, Connecticut in March 2006, this retreat gathered 45 individuals who joined to transform their perceptions of sexuality and spirituality. Facilitated by Drs. Michael Picucci and Elias Guerrero, Sex, Spirit and Intimacy focused on healing and integration of the sexual-spiritual split.
