APT & SE Informed Psychotherapy
and Couples Facilitation

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
— Carl Rogers

In addition to Dr. Michael Picucci’s Focalizing collaborations, he also conducts a private psychotherapy practice for individuals and couples at his office in Manhattan’s lower Fifth Avenue district. He is a Psychologist, Licensed Psychotherapist, Master Addictions Counselor, Sexologist, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

Dr. Picucci’s approach blends his research and groundbreaking work in Authentic Process Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Energy Psychology, and Focalizing. His work has been described as 'enormously transformative and deceptively simple.'

Explore the links below for additional details about the approaches that Dr. Picucci employs in his practice.

Authentic Process Therapy® (or Healing) has its foundation in the simplicity of being R.E.A.L.® (Resourcing Energy for Authentic Living).

Somatic Experiencing® is a method of Energy Psychology that is based in the felt senses of the body. It further evokes our innate intelligence to guide a journey toward wholeness, fulfillment and connectivity. Clients learn that somatic approaches can be an efficient process to addressing challenges, barriers, life-traumas and sex/intimacy issues.

For addictions, Dr. Picucci incorporates the Staged Model of Recovery taken from his book, The Journey toward Complete Recovery: Reclaiming our Emotional Spiritual & Sexual Wholeness.

Couples are most welcome and many ground a new coming together in therapy with the “Connectivity” section in his latest book on Energy Psychology: Ritual as Resource: Energy for Vibrant Living.
